The Nantucket Wine Festival
late May
This May festival provides opportunities to sample some of the finest wines from many great viticultural areas as presented by the wine makers or their representatives and to enjoy events in some of the island's grandest private houses and other places not open to the public. At the height of August summer, Islanders and visitors create masterpiece sandcastles and sand sculptures on Jetties Beach. The contest lasts all afternoon and ribbons are awarded in various categories. Nantucket Arts Festival
