Claude Bryan - The first thing you need to know about Claude Bryan is that he doesn't’t like to be called Claude. Bryan, and his wife Pancy, were employed for more than 10 years at our sister property the Oceanmist in South Yarmouth. When that hotel was sold early last year, Bryan and Pancy accepted our offer and made the move to our little island, thirty miles at sea. Not always an easy adjustment!
But Bryan quickly assimilated into our team as part of the maintenance and engineering department. He’s one of the guys we actually hope you never see, as he slips quietly in and out of guest rooms to touch up a bit of paint or glue a wallpaper seam. He also assists with the care of the pools and the tennis courts as well as the grounds and landscaping.
We knew we had hired the right guy when he was named as our Employee of the Month in May 2007. And then in a very close vote, he was awarded Employee of the Season in October.
Not a man of many words, asked about his award all he could say was “Wow!
